Joshua Ziac, EMT, FSI, TECC-I
Josh has been committed to emergency response and education for over three decades. His journey began in the early 1990s when he started teaching CPR as a teenager at Saint Margaret’s Hospital for Women in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He later earned his Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from Northeastern University in 2001 and continues to maintain his Connecticut EMT certification.
Since 2001, Josh has worked at New Canaan Country School where he current serves as the Director of Safety and Security. In addition, he works part-time with Greenwich and Stamford Emergency Medical Services and serves as an instructor and course coordinator for GEMS. His certifications include Fire Service Instruction (FSI-1), Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC-I), and Stop The Bleed instruction. He also serves as the Treasurer for the Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department in Old Greenwich, CT., the department where, in the late 1980s, he started his emergency services journey as a firefighter.
With expertise in crisis management, emergency communications, building management, recreational marine safety and first aid, threat assessment, and pediatric safety and prehospital emergency care, Josh brings a comprehensive approach to safety and preparedness.
At his core, Josh is an educator. Whether in the classroom or the field, he is dedicated to empowering others with the skills and confidence to respond in critical situations.
